How To Choose Your Ebook Titles
Your title may be as simple as: "Poodles grooming," or "Grooming Poodles. But what do you think of "Grooming the Poodle - How to groom your poodle and save hundreds dollars each year." That's what makes people read or not your book. Saving money is a psychological factor that influences people's behavior and can grow to a choice or an act. Here are 2 very specific motivations that should be used in sales pages: 1. The desire for gain 2. The fear of loss There are also other reasons but they are divided in the 2 motivations described above. In our example we propose to make savings. Saving money is making money. People want very specific things in life, you have in mind and use it in all your writings. Think about things that most people want: 1. More money 2. Solutions to their problems 3. Security 4. Health 5. The satisfaction of their basic needs 6. Social acceptance 7. Self improvement Aren't these your main concerns? In the example we used: how to groom your poodle and save hundreds of dollars each year. We focused on the desire for gain (saving) and a solution to a problem, which is grooming, but we can still improve it. People want more than these basic desires, they also want it to be easy and fast, always easier and faster. You can then include this in your title, eg: Poodle, the Fast and Easy Grooming - How to save hundreds of dollars in grooming your own poodle. Now, we could shorten the title, but in this case, we do not really need to. We could remove the word "How" but people like us to be more specific, so we will keep it. There are many ways that we could use to change the title and that while targeting the motivations and basic desires. Go ahead, try it yourself with your own title. Type or write several options and ask people which one they prefer. Arouse the reader's interest: create good titles for your chapters At this point you may think that once you have an outstanding main title, and targeted the basic desires and the various motivations of your potential readers: the main thing is done. You'd be wrong. As part of promoting your ebook, it is good to inform people of what they will find inside your ebook, indicating chapter titles and main headings. It's very easy. Start with making a list of topics you'll be developing. It takes some work. But start by writing them, do not think of what follows. Just write all the material you want to write about. Once you've made this list, put in order, in an order that makes sense. For example, our product dealing with grooming poodles, we would first of all have an introduction addressing the costs and problems related to grooming poodles, then we would speak of the preparation and tools needed, perhaps we might add a section explaining how to calm down the dog, the dog grooming poorly understood, then the dog shampoo, etc. Now that we have defined the different topics we want to develop, we will write compelling titles, for instance: Introduction: What you save on grooming, yourself, your poodle; Grooming Your Poodle: Get the right tools without spending a fortune; Calming down an upset dog who does not appreciate your efforts; Start with a very clean dog, etc. In summary, note all the subjects you want to discuss, put them in a logical order, create good titles for your chapters and, if you want, add little notes to help you remember what you will write for each subject, as you might forget it later.
