How To Improve Your Bing Website Ranking

Google still has the largest market share of the search engine industry, but Miscrosoft's Bing has earned back some of that market share. However, one thing many people do not forget to keep in mind is that Google and Bing offer radically different results for the same keywords. As such, many webmasters are trying to understand how to obtain a high rank in Bing for their specific keywords.

1) Content
"Content is king!" Bing's algorithm is heavily reliant on the amount of content on your website and its relevance. Having great content is thus the first step to obtain good search engine rankings on Bing. It is also important to regularly add new content to your website. This in turn indicates to Bing that your website is being regularly updates and encourages it to crawl the website more often.

2) On-site optimization
On-site optimization is extremely important on Bing. As such, it is necessary to ensure that the site is fully optimized according to search engine recommendation. This includes the proper site architecture, rich menu of keywords and links, with appropriate title and heading tags. Using keyword-rich domains and keywords in URLs and file names also helps your website rank higher

3) Link building
Link building is arguably the most important and time-consuming step to rank well in Bing. However, it is worth noting that Google and Bing handling inbound links are different. While Google places emphasis on anchor text, Bing doesnot give this so much weight, but instead focuses on the relationship between the content of the page, and its title and heading tags.

As seen above, optimizing your website for Bing is quite different from Google. Obviously, having a high ranking website on Google and Bing is very difficult, because the algorithms are different, but it is not impossible to achieve high rankings on both search engines by keeping these considerations in mind.
