How To Interview For A Lifeguard Job
Many companies will assist you in obtaining your lifeguard certificates. Lifeguards that secure jobs early enough generally get a significant discounted price on receiving they’re certificates or re-certifying expired certificates. Most pool management companies (www.usapools.com is one) are currently accepting applications and conducting interviews for the 2012 summer swim season. As you begin to look at your options, please be cognizant of the following things when applying and interviewing for a lifeguard job: 1. Pool management companies are run by professional people. What does this mean? Lifeguarding is a fun job, but do not think that it is not a serious job. You are representing a company of people who expect you to represent the company in a professional, positive way. 2. Attire is an important impression. What does this mean? Although you will be in a bathing suit with a whistle around your neck for most of the summer, you should dress professionally for your interview. Wear slacks and a collared shirt. Do not wear torn shorts or jeans, t-shirt, hat, etc. You are asking someone to hire you and pay you money to do a job. People generally do not give this opportunity to someone who looks like a slob. 3. Speak intelligently. What does this mean? The typical high school or college student has a language that many professionals have never heard before. When talking with someone about a job, use the English language (more specifically, the polite, professional English language). 4. Follow-up. What does this mean? A day or two after your interview send an email or make a call to your interviewer. Ask if there is anything else you can provide to them, and be willing to assist in any way you can. This shows a desire, and professional people like people with desire. Hopefully, after your interview, you will be a gainfully employed person. Good luck with your job! Check back in a few days, and you will be instructed on how to do the right job at your pool site. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com www.usapools.com |
