How To Make Yummy Meaty Spaghetti Sauce.

Making the perfect delicious meaty spaghetti sauce for your pasta is not as hard as you would think. All you need is a few ingredients and some prep time, and you’ll have a delicious pasta sauce you’re whole family will enjoy.

First you need some ground beef. I prefer 70% lean, mainly because I saw Bobby Flay on the Food network use it for making hamburgers. He seemed to think this was the perfect amount of fat, so if it’s good enough for his burgers then it’s good enough for our sauce. You can use any other kind of meat, including chicken, or pork, the other white meat. It all depends on your tastes. Brown your meat in a large pan and drain the fat.

While browning the meat let’s get our sauce started. Here’s where you’re budget, patience, and resources come into play. You can buy a regular grocery store spaghetti sauce, plain, or with your desired ingredients and spices. Or you can make your own from scratch, which isn’t too hard. You need a can of sliced tomatoes, some diced garlic cloves, oregano, parsley, and other Italian spices and seasonings from your spice rack. You can also use fresh spices.

If you’re using store brand spaghetti sauce you can kick it up a notch by adding fresh diced garlic, olive oil, and some of your own spices. This will usually turn an ordinary bargain sauce into something very flavorful and tasty.

Once your meat is browned and the sauce is heated you can add the drained meat to your sauce. Simmer on low for 10-15 minutes to combine the flavors and serve warm over your pasta. Add olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and other spices to taste, and do some experimentation. This sauce can also be used as a filling for lasagna, stuffed shells, or poured over any kind of pasta.
