How To Prepare A Presentation (tips For A Good Presentation).doc

“The true path to PowerPoint presentation enlightenment is to realize that PowerPoint is a tool that’s intended to enhance your presentation, not deliver your presentation for you or distract from it,” says an industry expert.

The three most essential components of any presentation are:
•Content
•Design
•Delivery

The content in all presentations has to be simple and concise. The content has to be suitably changed based on the target audience. Always use content that the audience wants to hear. The content must meet the objectives of the presentation.

Design the slides attractively so as to keep the audience engrossed at all times during the presentations. Use visuals rather than text as people love to see pictures which have higher impact than lengthy text. Keep the background consistent. The text color should contrast highly with the background color.

The delivery is the most important aspect of any presentation. Make direct eye contact with the audience and add a tinge of humor in the presentations. Asking questions to the audience is an effectively way of keeping the audience interested. Don’t just read the content of the slide use the slides to support your arguments and viewpoints.

Images, quotes of famous personality, charts, diagrams, graphs, tables, and stories are some of the important techniques that can be used to make a presentation more effective.

Before preparing any presentation, be clear about the objectives of the presentation, research the kind of audience, figure out 2-3 key points you want to make, and how you’ll emphasize these points.

The glaring differences among words, graphics and the background are always very effective for conveying both a message and emotion.
