A huge skill you need to know to be successful at creating your own site is knowing how to search for keywords. This is not something that is very easy to do. It takes a very long time to understand and get the hang of. Personally, I still don't have it down and I make web pages for a living.
There are a few really good tricks that you need to know. One is that there is no "fast" way to get a website traffic. You need to have patience and be willing to give your site time to rise in the search engines. What I mean by this is, say you just optimized your page with the best keywords out there. You are not going to see any results for probably 3 to 4 days.
Now, what happens to many people is that they see that there page is not getting any new visits so they re-optimize it. This is how you will never have a productive site. If you never let your site sit and gain loyal visitors then you are never going to be very high in the rankings of search engines.
After trying and trying to find the best keywords for my site I started to ask people for help. What I soon realized is that very few people do all the keyword research themselves.
