How To Understand Your Pets ?

I grew up to be an independent adult. The first thing that I bought for myself is a pair of rabbits. After work I will being them out and let them run free in the house and play with them. Rabbits are small pets to have. They toilet train themselves. They know where to go to do their business and they do not do it all over your house.

When owning a pet, please make sure your other family members love pets as well. I still remember very clearly in my mind. I went for a business trip for one week and when I came home happily to greet my rabbits, they were missing. I ask every members in the house where are my rabbits? They star at me with a blank face and said grandma came and took them away. That night we were served rabbit stew. I was so sad, I cried for weeks and I never own a pet ever again. But I spend hours everyday doing research, read countless books about pets.

I wish to share my knowledge with other pet owners. Then one fine day I walked into a pet shop and brought 2 shih tzus home to live with me and my life felt complete. They have conquered my heart, and are now slowly proceeding to conquer my home. We are talking about those lovable, four-legged furry friends of course. But I love them.

Get your pet used to being handled, groomed and brushed, having its nails clipped and ears cleaned while it is still young will save you a lot of headaches and expensive grooming bills later on. Letting your pet meet and greet all kinds of people in different situations safely, will equip him or her with the calm and well-adjusted disposition that will stay with your pet for life. Most pet behavioural problems, some of which are serious enough to warrant them being given up.

Can dogs and cats live together? Of course they can. We know canines and felines are supposed to be natural enemies, and there are some breeds of dogs with strong hunting instincts which would prove dangerous to have around cats. However, if properly introduced and supervised at the beginning, cats and dogs can live in harmony in the same home and even become close companions and playmates.

Will pets do whatever you want them to do? You know your dog can roll over and play dead, and your cat can shake paws and fetch toys. You like to your pets to your friends but when they come over, your pet refuse to perform. Shaking your treats will not help and your friends will just laugh affectionately and say you are deluded.

Do your pets chew? On everything? Shoes, bags, furniture, newspapers, stuffed toys. So if you do not want your most precious possessions reduced to a gooey mess, put them away. It is much safer for your pets too. Pets are great especially coming to family bonding. When the children in the family are grown up and everyone is busy living their own lives, having a pet ensures you have a common topic to talk about at dinner table. You will be surprised at the tales of the variety of adorable antics and mischievous ways your pet will get up to in front of different members of the family that you will have missed.

Be firm with your pets. You decide you are not going to allow your pets on the couch or bed then you is determined to enforce this rule. But once they arrive in your home, your heart melts and you hear yourself saying.. okay just once. This is it, your pet will be on the couch for the rest of its life.

One last point you should know about your pet is you will outlive them.
