So how does one go about obtaining a workers pass to one of the most elite clubs in the world despite never having lifted a finger on the White Isle?
A souvenir with true functionality - cover charge evasion of a beautiful club and airs and graces as you walk past the beautiful people to the front of the queue.
Simple really. Follow these instructions.
When you arrive in Ibiza you need to get acquainted with where Es Paradis is. It is near the egg and is the beautiful Ibiza club with the pyramid dome on top. You can't really miss it.
Es Paradis give out their workers passes on Friday mornings and no other day. It is the only day anybody is in the office. So if you arrive on Wednesday just relax and do your own thing before heading down on Friday to pick up your free pass.
You need to ring the bell that is on the gate on the far right hand side of the main entrance. Once you are let in, you need to explain to the lady that you are there to pick up your worker pass.
If it is early on in the season there will be no problems saying this. If it is later on in the season you need to say that you have been so busy working that you haven't got round to picking up your card yet.
The lady will ask where you work and just give her one of your favourite bar names e.g. Hush or Capone's. If they ask for your bosses name (which they don't) say you don't work for the boss directly but you work for (insert name here). It doesn't matter who you say as there as so many English people who act as proxy employers that nobody can keep track.
Depending on the time of the season and the mood of the lady, she will then issue you with your Es Paradis card that is valid for entry for you and a friend...saving you up to 76 euros (38 euros x 2 people!) If she is in a bad mood and it is the last few weeks of September she is obviously unlikely to give you a pass but what have you got to lose...it's an experience if anything and it is only the one woman ever there.
I know this definitely worked in 2007 as all of our holiday party did the same thing. I learned the trick from my time working in 2006 and carried it over to the next year...even though I was only on holiday.
I put down that I worked in the cool bar Hush whereas my calamity pal put down Tex-Mex which is a style of food served in the restaurant next to our hotel rather than the name of it.
Goes to show how easy it is and that they never check!
