How Your Website Content Can Improve Or Decrease The Traffic You Get From The Search Engines.
Today, I want to say a little bit about how your website content can improve or decrease the traffic you get from the search engines.
As you probably know, search engines LOVE content. Most of them give higher priority to websites that have lots of useful content, because they see those websites as being good information portals. Search engines do NOT want to send traffic to websites that appear to have nothing but sales pitches and ads.
I’ve seen websites that were ranking on the first page of Google, even though they weren’t optimized at all (with no SEO structure or meta info of any kind). Why do you think they got such a good position?
CONTENT!
Don’t even bother with optimization if you don’t have good content.
Right about now, you might be thinking, “How do I get good content for my site? I’m not a writer.”
Well, I’m no Mark Twain myself – but you don’t have to be a skilled writer. You just have to provide content that is valuable to your reader.
If you’re really uncomfortable doing it yourself, you can hire a freelancer. I’ve found great writers on GetAFreelancer.Com for as little as $2 per 100 words. Depending on your niche, you might want to visit the GAF website and sign up for a free account. You’ll be surprised by the resources you can find there.
The point I’m trying to make today is that you can’t expect to throw up a website and watch the money fall into your lap. It takes a little bit of hard work – and it starts with making sure you have good content. Once you have good content, the rest of your SEO efforts will perform a lot better.
