Hunting And Setting Goals
When I was 15 years old it was my first mule deer hunt here in Utah and the day before the hunt I wrote down everything that I was going to need to take on the hunt with me but the first thing I wrote on the paper in large letters was a 4 point buck. Well as you guessed it I ended taking a nice 4 point buck on opening day, it was great especially for someone's first hunt. After that I became addicted and have loved hunting ever since that day. Sometimes I like to think to myself would I have taken that buck if I hadn't written it down as a goal on that piece of paper? I'll never know, but that's what writing down goals are like you can never know the outcome but if you write it down and do your dangdest to accomplish it without ever giving up you're chances of success are much higher than if you would've done nothing. If you give up you can bet 100% that you're not going to accomplish the goal. Writing down a goal to harvest an animal or to take big animal keeps you focused and moving forward when otherwise you would've given up because the hike was too hard or you got buck fever and ended taking a much smaller buck than you wanted to take. Which you always regret doing later. I urge everyone this season to at least try it out, write down your goals on a piece of paper and keep it in your pocket and pull it out when you're taking a break or sitting around the fire. Imagine how good it will feel when you kill that big buck or fill your tag. Hunt safe fellow sportsmen and have fun! Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com |
