I Despise Emotions
Phony as a three dollar bill. We cling, crave, identify, Rationalize, moralize, internalize, idolize Demon vested creatures of ill reputed descent. While we continue to pretend, attend, and defend Ungodly exaggerated ways and means of ‘supposed’ tender loving concern. Despite our attempts to Create the illusion Continue the confusion Bask in the diffusion We try to convince ourselves they are real and substantial. But, they’re not, nor will they ever be. I despise emotion. Reminding us how we are so hollow and vain, Unadulterated by the utter shallowness of our trivialities. Constituting a way of life so obtrusively Void of meaning and productivity. Investing, time, money, effort, energy In callously devised plans etched insensitively. Unmoved by elaborate attempts in Stabs to persuade Ploys to evade People to invade I despise emotion. We gloat in our triumphs, Float in our excesses, Bloat in our indulgences. Taking prodigious turns with ourselves, So carelessly, mindlessly, disinterestedly; To scowl, cowl, calling foul When asked to apologetically bow. Occasionally, when we so deem fit, We generously choose: win or lose, To select the most favored auspicious feeling, Which always exalts or benefits us the most? And, when we think no one will notice our sly snare We smile, turn our prideful head, flashing a coy smile of care Soaking in the deliriously inebriated moment of self-intoxicated glory. I despise emotion. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com www.modeofcosmictherapy.com www.paulaandreapyle.com www.zabania.com |
