I Have A Really Good New Years Plan

I don't know about you, but I made a small but very specific list of things I want to accomplish in this year, 2011.

One is that I quite determined to make my first business trip overseas, even if I lose money on the deal. That one is very important to me as it would represent a really big milestone for me. You see, and no, I don't expect this to be particularly interesting to you the reader, what I would like to do at this stage in my life is become an international trader in goods. And not one who just sits in front of his or her computer either. No sir, I want to get out there and see the merchandise first hand, I want to haggle and hobnob, I want to see what the labor conditions are like and breathe the culture of the land I'm buying and selling goods with. It's all very romantic to me, and I'm certain that it won't remain a fantasy- I'm really going to do this.

Of course, my list of resolution included plenty of important things like loving my children and making them the center of my life, and getting a racing bicycle again, but I just seriously feel that being an importer and exporter is my calling, and I feel it in the same way that a sailorman feels it in his bones when he looks afar off to see and romantically imagines what life must be like on the other side. I don't know how all this will work out or how long it will take to make a decent wage at it, but I'm going for. I intend to live out my resolutions every day, not just for a short time in January. I guess that's a secret: don't make any resolutions you wont' be able to keep.
