I Am A Failure. What Can I Do?
Often I would say there is nothing that I can do. It is all over. The music has stopped, and there is no chair to sit on. I am out of the game, and I am destined for a life of nothingness from here on. Well, that sounds like a lot of doom and gloom. Have you ever felt like that? Is there anything that I can do? Yes, There is plenty. Firstly, give yourself a break. I mean physically a break. Call it a timeout, a yellow card, or even a red card but walk away and have a break. Maybe even go for a walk. Doing some exercise is a very good thing because it takes care of a number of issues at the same time. What you are trying to do here is breakthrough the energy connection that exists connecting your thoughts with what you perceive as a failure. (Note to self: Failure only exists if you think it exists). After a decent break that could be 2 hours, 2 days or even 2 weeks it depends on you, You can do something positive for yourself. It's like licking your wounds. I think it can be very helpful to do a small positve thing immediately after your long walk break because it helps you focus on building positive energy to the break the connection with your previous focus on the negative energy flow of thoughts of failure. From this point, you short term goal is to build up as many positive reasons to believe you are successful. Sit down and write down as many reasons as you can. Get a new exercise pad. Use a blue pen. Start to feel good a bout you each time you write a positive reason down. Maybe the the first reason on your new list could be to continue to tell yourself that, "I love me". Now for me, naturally, I would have cooled down by now. After a break, some food and a sleep, the next morning, somehow, without any effort, I could see life a little differently. It was not as bad as yesterday and I could see a glimpse of sunlight at the end of the tunnel. The light is always on, it is just that sometimes we choose to turn our backs and look back into the tunnel. Note to self: Always face the tunnels's exit and see the light.
