Isvs Should Be Aware Of Certain Tips For Data Migration

Independent software vendors can follow certain tips if they intend to migrate their data to the cloud.

In a recent article by CloudTweaks.com, before ISVs actually make the switch to the cloud, they must first select the correct storage solution. Selecting where the data will be located is also key, considering business may be lost if compliance issues arise.

Other tips ISVs should be aware of include data selection, multi-tenant data transformation, data loading strategies and migration certification, according to the article.

"However things change drastically when a customer is moving to cloud and the on-premise data needs to be moved to the cloud," wrote contributor MilindKhirwadkar. “ISVs need to know and prepare for the following in their data migration solutions for their customers moving from on-premise to cloud."

A survey conducted by Hosting.com found that 44 percent of companies considered cloud computing an executive priority. Also, 80 percent of those surveyed said they are likely to consider replacing their physical servers with cloud servers.
