The latest phenomenon to hit the Internet and the creative world of advertising online are Iads. These are the abbreviated term that is used for described innovative ads or advertisements. Iads are winning rave reviews in the media circles as they aim to generate interest, create curiosity and maintain the viewer’s attraction towards the advertised product or service in a visually effective manner. For products and services that are aimed at the common person, like household products or educational services, convincing brand packaging and innovative advertising that does not draw the attention away from the main message is essential. This is what the best Iads must imbibe if they want to grab the right dose of viewer attention in the shortest time span.

Iads are more successful as a form of Internet advertising since innovation and great graphics make for maximum appeal in all age groups, regardless of sex. Though it is too soon to presume that television advertising is dying, what comes to the forefront clearly is the fact that due to cheaper and easy availability of personal computers and Internet access, service providers have found the steady following of Internet users increasing. This means increased web traffic, which can be directed towards certain channels if the Iads are designed specifically to appeal to a certain target audience and so hit their mark. Thus, search engine optimization writing and creatively framed web content is much in demand with graphically portrayed, well projected Iads that inform, interest and attract-all at the same time. Since the time limit is so little and viewer interest must be sustained in that minute time frame, for successful Iads it is most important to cater to site visitors in a multi-channel approach. This results in making Iads simple, visually appealing with a message that can be conveyed in least time and words to add to the websites’ usefulness and generate more commercials online.

The amount of money spend on Iads or specifically, those commercials related to the Internet video advertising in the US is expected to almost triple in 2007 to $640 million from this year's $225 million, according to popular survey reports.
