Illinois Governor Quinn Appoints Cortney Anderson Wascher To State Board

Governor Pat Quinn recently appointed Cortney Anderson Wascher, President of Anderson Lock, to the Illinois Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerpoint Vendor and Locksmith Board of the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.

This advisory board meets four times a year, twice in Springfield and twice in Chicago, to review cases brought before the state, and makes recommendations according to current laws and practices. The board is overseen by Chairman Kenneth Kotz and Vice-Chairman Edward Bonifas.

Cortney is dedicated to assuring that the citizens of Illinois are safeguarded from unscrupulous business practices, and that the locksmith industry maintains its trustworthy reputation with proper regulation of locksmiths through licensing, and P.E.R.C. cards (Permanent Employee Registration Cards).

Cortney Anderson Wascher joined Anderson Lock in 1997 and currently serves as President overseeing day to day operations. Anderson Lock provides locksmith, door repair and replacement services. They have been providing reliable locksmith services since 1960.

Tips from Cortney on how to avoid phony locksmiths:

Phony locksmiths flood phone books and online listings with fake addresses to appear as legitimate businesses. Customer’s calls are forwarded to “call centers” that are often in another state. These scammers arrive in unmarked vehicles, may not be licensed, will charge far more than estimated and only accept cash.
Anderson Lock technicians will always arrive in a red service truck, will always be wearing a company uniform, and will be able to show a P.E.R.C. (Permanent Employee Registration Card) issued by the state of Illinois.
