A poster is a kind of a piece of a printed paper designed to be attached to a wall or any other vertical surface for that matter. This place can be in the privacy of people's rooms or in large banner forms in public areas where political parties/ propagandas are promoted. Typically, a poster may include textual or graphical elements, although some posters can be entirely graphical to have an enough illustrious power so as to play on the mind of the beholder. Therefore posters are designed to be eye catching so that they can convey across a message. This message may be 'hidden' in a poster as well as it could be very direct. Thus, these arty messaging tools are frequently used not only by advertisers, propagandists, protesters etc. but even by common people of youth or age to create around themselves, an aura of the feeling they desire.
Posters originally came in either as placards or posted bills. Purely textual posters have a long history. They advertised the plays of Shakespeare and made the common people aware of the government announcements. But now in the 21st century as the quality and amount of posters has developed so much since, we are indeed living in a fast moving era where 'fantasy' is another genre being explored by posters themselves.
So what is a fantasy poster? A Fantasy poster uses the genre of fantasy that uses magic and other supernatural forms as a primary element of plot, theme, and/or setting. Fantasy posters are generally distinguished from science fiction and horror by the expectation that it steers clear of technological and macabre themes, respectively, though there is a great deal of overlap between the three (collectively known as speculative fiction).
In its broadest sense, fantasy posters comprise works by many writers, artists, filmmakers, and musicians, from ancient myths and legends to many recent works embraced by a wide audience today.
Harry Potter etc. all these are fantasies of humans living in the 21st Century. As the world becomes more and more serious in development and technology, people rely on fantasy posters to escape from these rather mechanical forces of life that occupy us everyday. Therefore having a fantasy poster of your choice stuck or hung up on the wall of your bedroom, allows the mind to relax and feel how the inner mind wants to set itself free by exploring the untouched fantasy or to generate a sense of being, or a sense of place in a realm that is simply created by a fantasy poster.
