Today I'm going to review Inbox Dollars. I've been a member here since late 2006 and have become very familiar with them. As you will see here, Inbox Dollars is much more than your average Paid To Read (PTR) site.
Inbox Dollars sends emails that are worth between 1-10 cents. My account is averaging about 3.1 cents per email. Most emails also have offers that can be completed for more money. They typically only send 1-2 emails a day, so while your account doesn't get flooded, you don't earn much from reading the emails (you do if you complete the offers that are included in the emails). One complaint is that there is no option to have the emails sent to a site inbox. This is important to many people that are signed up for multiple PTR sites and don't want their email accounts clogged.
Their referral incentives are good but not great. They offer a $5 bonus for everyone that you sign up, though the $5 is only credited to your account once the referral requests a payout. They also offer commissions on emails read by your referrals, though they don't tell you the amount anywhere. For my referrals, it seems to be about 5%.
Now to cover the real ways to get paid here - there are many offers on their site to complete and earn money. Some of these offers are free, while others require that you purchase something. The free offers typically pay anywhere from $0.25-$2, while the other offers can pay up to $50 (as of today there are a few offers that pay $30). For example, if you sign up for Stamps.com through their link, you can earn $10.
Other offers include daily surveys that you can complete for $1, though you are limited to 1 survey per day. Plus you can earn money playing online games and by searching the Internet. Finally, they have merchants that will give you cash back when you purchase something by following the Inbox Dollars link.
Payout is $30 by check. You can also use your account balance to purchase banner impressions and upgrade to Gold Membership (which gives you extra referrals).
You can easily see that there are a lot of ways to earn money here. While you can complete some of the offers where you have to purchase something, there is plenty of money to be earned with the free offers, surveys and emails. The only real downside is the low volume of emails. Don't expect to earn much if you don't try the other opportunities.
