There are literally thousands of different ways that you can increase online traffic to your website but one of the easiest is by placing your own blog on your domain. There are several different reasons why this is the case. First of all, the search engines tend to pick up on what you post rather quickly and include it in the index if you are consistent with making your posts. Secondly, if people enjoy what you have to say, they are going to come back on a regular basis in order to see if you have anything new.


Adding a blog to your website is a relatively easy thing to do. For example, you can use the Wordpress blog system and either upload it in order to begin using it within a few minutes or use Fantastico in order to set it up automatically if your hosting provider offers Cpanel. Once it is set up, there are very few things that you need to change in order to make it SEO friendly and ready to accept your posts.

You may also want to consider starting up a blog on one of the free websites such as blogger.com. Google tends to favor this particular blogging system because they own it and it is relatively easy to get listed in the search engines by posting information on the blogger blog. You can then either direct the traffic to an affiliate program or back to your own website and increase online traffic in that way. It is just a simple way of piggybacking on the success of another website in order to benefit your own.
