India is a well-known country celebrating numerous festivals every year. During the festival time in India, people mingle with their friends and relatives and get the opportunity to eat numerous delicacies. These traditional recipes have been known from generations.

Every festivals have their own importance and brings the joy and ceremonious food which is waited for all year long. The festival Holi offers an opportunity to enjoy some sweet delicacies. Diwali, one of the major Hindu festival, follows the custom of offering sweets to the deities who are worshipped and sharing those as blessings. The dishes such as rawa laddoos or ghathia are the delights of Diwali. Ramzan Eid is enjoyed by the Muslim community as well as other communities. The Eid delicacies include mutton korma, badami phirni, sheer korma and seviyan.

Holi is an important Hindu festival which is celebrated with grand feast and scrumptious recipes. Below you will find few easy recipes which you can make on the occasion of Holi festival.

Gujhias: Gujhias are the special dishes for Holi. It is usually made with maida and khoya and very sweet in taste. It requires long time to make but the taste you will get is worth it. You can serve Gujhias along with other namkeens or sweets.

Dahi Vada: Dahi vada is a traditional deep fried snack item. It is generally made with urad daal which you need to soak for longer hours. Pour the curd over the fried vada and add tamarind chutney and green chutney.

Vegetable Pakoras: You can prepare the pakora with many vegetables like cabbage, spinach, potato or cauliflower wrapped in gram flour. It is an extremely delicious snack to be enjoyed with tea or any sweet dish.

Papri: Papri is very easy to make at home. Make a dough with maida and make small round puris. Fry them in oil and your papri is ready. With this papri, you can make papri chaat by adding the boiled potatoes and boiled chick-peas. Sprinkle little chaat masala for more spicy taste.
