Indians Living In Japan
Life in Japan Even though more and more people are now visiting Japan, more and more Western countries have close ties and more and more Western companies are investing money in Japan, the area is still very much clouded in mystery for many people. However, over the last few weeks we have seen significant publicity regarding Japan after the devastating earthquake and tsunami literally wiped out many villages and towns on the coastline. The Indian community in Japan The Indian authorities have been very quick to confirm that the Indian immigrant population in Japan has not been affected directly by the earthquake and tsunami and there have been no reports of any deaths within the Indian community. However, the whole country is now in the grip of economic turmoil with the authorities forced to invest billions upon billions of yen to support a creaking infrastructure and battered economy. Employment in Japan Despite the fact that many overseas countries and companies have come to the aid of Japan after the recent disaster there is no doubt that the repercussions will be felt for some time to come. Despite the fact the country prides itself on its ability to remain fairly stable during earthquakes it was in many ways the tsunami which caused the most damage. Inward investment into the Japanese economy will in the main come from the government in the short to medium term until businesses are able to get back on their feet and the aftermath of the disaster has been tackled. Education in Japan Education is a major element of Japanese society and indeed a number of private schools have sprung up around the country over the last few years. We are also seeing the introduction of a number of specific Indian targeted schools which are in high demand amongst the Indian immigrant community. The very fact that Japan in itself is an IT and technology-based economy and society has in many ways played into the hands of those from India with skills and experience in these fields. When you put together high-quality education and experience/skills in IT technology you have the makings of a potentially lucrative opportunity for Indians living in Japan. Conclusion It is only over the next few months that we will see the extent to which the recent disaster has affected the Japanese economy and society. The very fact that countries from around the world have rallied together for the Japanese cause perfectly illustrates the country’s heightened standing in the worldwide community and the fact that Japan is in itself one of the economic hubs of the world.
