I didn't find too much new info on marketing songs on this sitebut if you're an indie artist seeking methods just to get your music recorded and produced, there's a gold mine of informationto sort through that can teach you how to do it yourself.
I may not know how to tell you much about the subtleties of the music industry myself, but one thing I think is impressive about RecordAtHome.info (that's ".info" NOT ".com") is that you can see as much energy spent on this site promoting artist music as there spent educating them. It's a sitethat seems to want to genuinely help indie artist. It's more impressive when you are told that it's web mastered an indie artist in his spare time. If site's like this flourish, the giant labels and their gorilla tactics might be on the way out!
As I said I'm no indie artist guru, but I am a freelance writer... so I can see where this effort is valued by indie artist... Anyhow, while I was on the site I found three acts I loved, and several more I liked enough to purchase music from.
Here are the 3 artist I loved the most. Enough, in fact, to buy all of their material. Go to the siterecordathome.info and follow the ads to the "Talent Pool" section to hear these indie music artist.
1 - Speck 5 - This is a new and unique sounding artist (Alan Currens). He's a solo artist, so he invents, performs and produces his own material. Usually a vocalist defines the sound of a band, but with Speck 5 the voice is just another layered instrument that blends in with a bed of world percussion and sound effects... and a mix of heavy metal and funk guitars. This music is almost cinematic and gripping. The energy is sexy and sometimes violent. Every song is so different.
My favorite song: "21st Century Freak".
Genre: "Alternative" music
2 - Carrie Day -This artist gives me chills when she sings. The sheer authenticity of emotion in her voice is destined for greatness. Her lyrics are poetic and touching and she stirs thought. The music of her music is top notch. Great tracks!
My favorite song, "Glimpse of Heaven".
Genre: "Folk" music
3 - Tenza - Fast, catchy music with entertaining lyric and stupendous production. There's no denying Tenza is world class and on the rise. The UK should enjoy her while they have her to themselves, it won't last long. This is party music. Pure and simple.
My favorite song, "Got it".
Genre: "orld/Raggae" music
OK, that's it. Go check out this site and comb through the Talent Pool. There's a world of music for you to discover.
