Inexpensive Wedding Favors Idea

Weddings are an expensive undertaking and the cost of wedding favors for a few hundred guests can greatly add to that burden. The average cost of a wedding favor including packaging and associated decorations can range from $3 - $5 a piece. Times that by an average guest list of 200 guests then the total cost of the wedding favors will be $600 - $1000!

Little wonder then that cheap wedding favors is one of the most popular searches in the internet as brides attempt to provide perfect favors within a very tight budget. But it is possible to create inexpensive wedding favors which are unique and personal to your wedding. All that is required is a little creative thinking and perhaps some savvy shopping!

Candles are perhaps one of the best known favors and one of the most popular. Check out dollar stores for pretty tea lights in holders or votives which can be given without a holder. Don’t give tea light on their own though, they certainly will look cheap and as if you have gone to no trouble at all! Votives look nice in voile bags which can be bought in bulk quantities very cheaply from websites like Ebay.

Chocolates and candies are perhaps the cheapest option of all, but by no means do they look like you have scrimped on style. Wholesalers are your best option for cheap chocolates and candies in bulk. Look for shapes and colors which your match your wedding style and color scheme and wedding theme if you are having one. You can give them in small card boxes or voile bags, but make sure you give a nice quantity of each to every guest.

Make your own custom cookies at home. They are not expensive to produce and you can bake them in big quantities in one afternoon. You don’t even need to go to the trouble of adding fancy icing in the style of the designer cookies you see in magazines. Instead go for the rustic ‘baked by mom’ approach and give each guest a little goody bag of mini cookies in different flavors presented in clear cellophane bags tied with ribbon.

Making your own chocolates at home is easy as well and cheaper than buying them ready made from a shop. Search the internet for chocolate making kits which will include melting chocolate and molds into which you pour your melted chocolate – easy! Turn them out when set and package in clear cellophane bags or mini boxes. Also look for lollipop molds and make your own chocolate lollipops for a favor with a difference!
