Infant Dedication - How To Choose The Best Dress For Your Child

This is a very interesting day for you and your family. The time has finally arrived for your family to celebrate and to dedicate your little girl to the Lord. You prepare the food, the guest inventory, the venue, invitations, streamers and other important things. You have also thought about cute perfect gift give away for your guests to remember this occasion by. But most outstandingly you want your little bundle to look perfect as well. Certainly she must look really special but you want her to look back at her dedication photos some years from now and say that she had on the perfect little dress that you could possibly get.

Choosing the absolute dress for your perfect little one can be really feverish and fun. However, it can be taxing as there are loads of choices out there. Not only will you buy the dress for the actual dedication ceremony but also need to buy a dress or an outfit for after and during the small party that you have prepared for her and your guests.

Climate/ Weather

Before buying a dress for your little girl's dedication, be sure that you have set the date. Know what season that special day falls. This is very important because it will determine the overall comfort of your little one. If the weather is bright and sunny then light cottony material is in order for the said event. But you can also chose lacy materials provided they are doubled with cotton fabric at the layers of her dress or gown. This way, she won't be able to feel the sometimes itchy feeling of lace gowns or dresses specially during hot or humid weather.

Venue

Indoor or outdoor? These are the choices of venues at present. At present, outdoor setting is becoming popular not just for dedication but also for birthdays and weddings. The setting of your little girl's dedication is also a fundamental consideration in choosing the dress or the gown. For a cold weather, be sure to include a small bonnet or hat in your child's attire. Or you might want to include a little jacket or probably long sleeved dress or gown if it's going to be an inside venue with air conditioning so that your baby won't get too cold.

Style

There are actually two main choices for this, the traditional look or what we call christening gown and the modern look which is practically any appropriate dress that you could get in stores. Others would be custom or tailored made dresses specially made for this memorable occasion.

The long gown is very elegant and it definitely fits the event. The conventional gown often comes with a beautiful hat. Gowns are a bit more expensive because they are made only for occasion such as this and they are usually made with deluxe fabric.

If you want to divert from the old traditional look, shop through online stores or boutiques. You can select other colors as well like cherry, lilac or baby blue.

You still need to think of a pretty dress after the dedication ceremony. You can opt something that is very comfortable and yet still glamorous for the photo shoots during the party would be a wise choice for the event. Shoes are also essential although not as important if your child is still a child. On the other hand if your child is already walking then that is a totally different story altogether. In this case, shoes is going to be indispensable to ensure your child's comfort all throughout the ceremony.
