Information About Bees Nest

Bee’s accommodations are known as bees nest. There are more than about twenty thousand species of bees in the world. Out of all, some bees like the Queen-bee, the worker bees and the drone rest in colonies. Bees store their venom in sacks. This sack is attached to their stinger and only female bees have stinger in their reproductive systems so are capable to sting. Queen bee is a kind of female bee which can reproduce, though worker bee is also a female bee, it does not have the capability of a queen bee to reproduce. A queen bee uses her stinger to sting as well as lay eggs. A drone is a masculine form of bees. It mates with the eggs laid by the queen bee while the worker bee cleans the hive, collects pollen and nectar to feed the colony and also takes up the caring responsibilities of the off springs.

Coming on to a bees nest, it has a spherical chamber with a single exist. A small mound of pollen paste is made in the middle of the nest by the queen bee. She then lays some eggs and covers them with a small ball of wax. Then she builts up a half circled wax cup at the entrance, termed the honey pot, filled with nectar. This helps the newly hatched larvae consume the paste in their cells. For a period of time, the queen feeds the larvae through the small opening of the cell wall. Later the larvae grow and spin cocoons in which they finally metamorphose. This finally result in the formation of worker bees of the new colony. Larvae are then reared in their cells, individually.

You may also find another kind of bees, bumble bees. The nests of bumble bees are not much organized as the nest of honey bees. Their nest usually grows into a mound of capsule like cells. At the end of summer, the bee begins to lay unfertilized eggs that later develop as drones. The female off springs develop as queen bees and mate with drones. After some period of time, these drones and worker bees die and the bees nest is allocated as the queen bees migrate and build up their new accommodations.
