And don't hold back, there are so many miniatures out there that there is no reason you cannot get exactly what you want.
Placing your Furniture in a Way That Works
Because a doll's furniture is very light you can easily found the perfect arrangement in a matter of seconds. There are many options in furniture layout that you might not have thought of. The two most common layout designs is the triangle and the square. In order to use the triangle design you will need three major pieces of furniture for the room, imagine that they form a triangle and place them accordingly. The next example is that of the square, take four pieces of furniture and arrange them so that they make a square in the room. If you have an extra small piece of furniture you can have a five piece square by placing it in the middle. Though these are the most used you can have any types, shapes, and patterns that form a symmetrical or aesthetically pleasing layout.
Dollhouse Flooring Options
It is the small things that once changed make the biggest difference, and in this case flooring is a great small change for a big difference. Flooring is often overlooked because it is the base, but that only means that it is really the foundation for your furniture and design choices. Not only that, it adds a very distinct touch that will take your dollhouse and move it to the next level. There are several types of flooring that you might want to consider: Carpet, linoleum, tile, stone, and/or hard wood. Carpet for dollhouses is very compact and comes in sheets similar to dollhouse wallpaper. Linoleum and tile are basically the same for your kit in application, they are simply different designs. Stone and hard wood choices are really available for those die hard hobbyist that want a very realistic house, but hey when you want quality there is no better option.
How Many? The reality of that question applied to Miniatures
There is a common question that is asked when getting miniatures: Can I put too many pieces of doll furniture in one room? It really depends on the room that you are trying to furnish and how it looks once the furniture is installed. First of all you are not going to want to cram any room with furniture, it is wasteful and distasteful. Second, the more stuff that you put in the more fresh clean space that you will be left without. You must realize that space itself can have its own designing capabilities. The empty space gives your eyes a chance to relax on those miniatures that are in the room. On the other hand if you have too much space then you simply ask: Is that it? At the end of the day you will have to come to that balance on your own.
