Interactive Pc Game Overview: Is There Such Thing As Too Early?
The answer to that question is yes, particularly if you value your computer and don't want it covered in drool or some other by product of you little angel's body. You may not want to incorporate an interactive PC game into your child's environment if their first inclination when they see a computer is to swing the mouse around the room like the proverbial cat by a tail. But seriously most parents would be wise to keep kids away from computers until they are able to sit up properly on their own and had a certain level of respect for the machine.
There are some children who take to computers readily at an early age and seem to be able to interact with them responsibly, while others prefer to explore other sensations and will get to computers in their own time. Don't be too anxious to introduce computers, they are highly appealing to kids (and adults) and children have highly tuned skills of adaptation- finding the right time and the right program is all that is required.
In the first measured interactions (around ages 3-4) a child may be responsive to the computer and is at this stage that you can introduce an interactive pc game to engage their interest. There are a number of titles aimed at the pre-reading market and these programs promote the use of the mouse and perhaps one or two keys on the keyboard. A parent or guardian will need to be with the child at this stage to guide them through the process of using the computer and the software, monitor their interactions and avoid potential frustration flare ups.
Once you feel confident the child is interacting well with the computer you can start to think about an appropriate interactive PC game. There are a number of titles on the market but finding one that particularly suits your child is a matter of matching the software to your child's interests. So if your son or daughter really likes Dora The Explorer they will respond well to an interactive PC game where Dora is the star. One the child's interest is engaged they will be more likely to be happy learning what the program has to offer.
