Interior Design Using Victorian Decor
Victorian decorating is a passion of mine and I can already envision some of the articles I want to incorporate in the scheme of putting our home together. I can paint the walls with beautiful colors and add special touches that I can’t do in a rental! Creating window dressings will be fun. I look forward to scouting flea markets, yard sales, and retail store sales for saving money on Victorian decorative items. It is very exciting when you save money on that special item that you have been looking for! Working from home will allow me to have a schedule to go bargain hunting when the crowds aren’t out there. I enjoy the quietness of a store when I am searching and “day dreaming”. Some of the bedroom articles I will look for are antique metal headboards, vintage throw pillows, mirrors and wall hangings, lace curtains, old wooden shabby chic furniture, and just odd stuff to create interest. A Victorian bathroom can be so inviting and relaxing if put together properly. Imagine jars of home made bath salts to choose from for the right mood. I look forward to shopping for the vanity table and a plushy chair to relax in after a great soak! There will be no end to shopping for the kitchen and dining area. I have already started a teapot and teacup collection. Victorian lace will add greatly to tables and windows. Victorian decorating doesn’t have to “rob the bank” but can change the look of a contemporary home altogether.
