Are you seeing advertisements everywhere telling you that internet marketing is free and easy? Well, it is not! Internet marketing takes time, knowledge, skill, and yes some money. The great news is that by finding a great mentor, having some time to develop the skills, knowing where to go for the information, and a little cash, you can produce an excellent income online.
Time. Time is not free, just ask the man who trades 40 plus hours of his life every week to receive a paycheck. He will never get those 40 hours back. It is not free. You trade part of your life for a check. To do internet marketing on a budget, you will need to use your time to generate business, to learn skills from your mentor, and to know how to work your business. A great example is writing this article. It took my time to produce this, although it didn't cost me a nickel.
Skill. Almost anyone can learn a new skill. That is the way our brains were created. Some people might pick things up quicker than others, but you can always learn something new. Remember when you first got your computer and you were learning about email? You survived that lesson and have moved on to bigger and harder lessons. The beauty of a skill is that it can't be taken away from you. Someone can fire you, lay you off, you can quit your job, etc., but you still have your skill set. Once you learn the skills of internet marketing, you can use them for one or many businesses online. If your primary company goes out of business, you have the skills necessary to get started in another one.
Knowledge. I think we have stuck knowledge in a box and called it school, it is over rated. I am a college grad so I don't fit in this category, but I know plenty of people who are making 6 and 7 figures (my husband is one) who never went to college. One of my mentors is also a wealthy online marketer who never went to college. I am not saying that college is not important. I learned a lot going to college. It helped shape who I am as a person. What I am saying is that if you are interested in learning online marketing for a home based business or MLM, you do not need a degree to learn. On the other hand, if you want to be a doctor or lawyer, go to college.
Money. Some internet marketers will tell you that you don't need any money to work this business. This is not true, however you can build on a budget. If you are on a budget, then you will need to use more of your time to help build your business. When it takes off, then you can use those resources to pay others to do the work you were doing. The key is to know what work to do to get business.
I hope I have simplified things and put into perspective some of the internet marketing myths that are floating around out there. As a mentor and life coach I like to teach people the truth and throw out the myths.
