Introduction To The International Brotherhood Of Magicians.( British Ring).
(IBM),which is the world’s largest organization for magicians.With over 15,000 members in more than 75 countries all belonging to local groups called Rings,the IBM must be considered the premier organization for professional and amateur magicians,enthusiasts and collectors. The British Ring was founded by Oswald Rae in 1928 and is the largest ring of the IBM, with over 2000 members.The British Ring organise an annual 5 day convention held in September.Magicians from all over the world attend,offering lectures and performing in the shows.A large hall is given over to magical dealers to sell there magic effects and props. The British Ring No. 25 keeps in touch with its members via a monthly magazine called The Budget.The magazine contains news and views,reviews of magic tricks,adverts from magic dealers, and tricks contributed by professional magicians. If you are interested in joining the British Ring of the IBM you need to have been interested in the art of magic for at least 2 years ( 1 year for Junior Membership).By being a member you pay a reduced registration fee for the annual convention,are entitled to enter the various competitions for cash and trophies,have access to a postal library service of 3000 books,and receive the monthly magazine plus the opportunity to network with like minded enthusiasts.
