Irvine Photography Business Partners Should Divide Work Assignments Based On Strengths And Interest

There are a number of OC photography businesses that are run by husband and wife couples, partners or a team of associates. The key to working together successfully and maintaining the greatest amount of job satisfaction is to divide work tasks up by interests and strengths.

The first step to dividing up work in this manner is to know your own strengths, personality and aptitudes. Make a list of those activities that you would do for fun and would continue to do even if you were not paid to do so. Have your partner complete the same exercise. You will find some tasks one your partners list that you dread doing. Let your partner complete those tasks. By the same token, there will be some items on your list that are real chores for your partner. You should take those tasks.

The term "Photography Business" describes the manner in which tasks should be divided. There is usually one partner who relates most to the "Photography" part of this phrase. This person usually has an intense interest in the art of photography. This partner often feels that marketing, sales, accounting and growth is a necessary evil to make a living by taking pictures. Usually putting this person in charge of quality control, new product design and other such products is an effective strategy.

Often there is another partner who relates better to the work "business." This person likes growth. She enjoys seeing quality work being performed in a fraction of the time in which it was taking in the past. This person enjoys simply running a business. Often, while this person enjoys taking pictures, his passion for monetary growth is even greater.

Another division among partners can usually be found in how much each likes to deal with the public. Some people are introverts. Being an introvert does not mean the person can not deal with others, but simply the don’t gain their energy from dealing with others. Extroverts on the other hand seek people out when they need a boost. Thus by having the extroverts perform more frequently tasks dealing with people, the extrovert can do more of what gives him a boost. Increased energy by the partners will strengthen the photography business.

Normally neither partner fits 100% in one category or the other. These are simply general trends. However, the greater the divergent interests, the easier it is to divide work by interest and aptitude.
