This is quiet an exciting time for both the parents as in this period the sex of your baby can be determined. The sex of your baby becomes apparent during this period which excites the parents. You have now successfully passed the worst part of the nausea with the completion of the first trimester. You have entered into the period of rapid development now and now you are going to experience the 11 week pregnant symptoms. Your baby is going to witness rapid development in this period.

Your baby will grow at a rapid pace till the 20th week from now. You will find that the weight of your baby has increased to 30 times and its length has just gone triple in just span of 9 weeks from now. The length of baby in this stage is near about 2 inches. The weight of your baby will be near about 0.25 ounces.

Up till now you could easily see right through your baby's skin. This was due to the fact that your baby's skin was paper thin up till now, but, as you enter into this week you will find that your baby's skin is changing into multi layered membrane now and it is loosing much of its transparency. Your baby is now able to perform various small small functions like opening and closing of his fists. Some small buds are also developing in him which will eventually change into his teeth at the proper time.

So, you would be gaining weight with the coming of this week and your body may start revealing that you are pregnant now. The first trimester of your pregnancy is going. This point generally flutters mothers. As your baby develops and the time passes on, your tummy will start showing everyone that you are pregnant.

So, in this period you will observe various changes. Although your tummy is not that much pronounced and does not makes you feel ashamed in front of outsiders but you will feel various changes that will make you understand that you are pregnant now. Your hair and nails will start growing rapidly in this stage. As the nausea starts subsiding, you will find that you are gaining weight.

You are just required to take proper care of yourself. Many new interests will also start developing. You will find yourself getting interested in shows related to babies and parenting.
