Is School Uniform Cool To Wear?

A school is an institution, which imbibes and inculcates good values and virtues in the young minds. It moulds the children to be a better bunch of citizens with sense of responsibility. As a step of teaching discipline and bringing about an atmosphere of oneness, school uniforms were introduced in the 19th century. It is a standardized attire to be worn by children till they finish their schooling. It is considered to be of great respect and a good impression when a child goes to school with neat and tidy uniform. There are some alma maters who even grade the children on the grounds of their apparels. It brings in a sense of belonging to a particular school.

The whole idea of having common uniform is to train students to be professional, which is of paramount importance in a corporate world. Discrimination between the rich and poor children is avoided as they all share the same attire. This also teaches students to keep away from prejudice, just like a sun, which dries the clothes both of rich and the poor.

School dresses are a bargain and are becoming far cheaper than any other apparel. The wholesale school apparel is easily affordable even with those, who live on a shoe string budget. The institutions say they prefer school uniforms rather than casuals as they are economical, compared to the gaudy and expensive designer clothing, and the cost does not come heavy on the parent’s pockets. Some feel if you have chosen to work in an entertainment industry where casual are the norms, then the idea of school dresses helping build one’s image and make one more professional is futile. Some elders are also with the opinion that these enforced rules can create rebellious nature in students.

No matter what the debate is over, some still say school days were the best days of their life and their old group snaps with school attires brings nostalgic memories afresh to their minds.
