Is The Oil Spill In The Gulf The Final Blow To Our Economy?
I am not going to scribble about who is to blame or who is at fault. At least not in this article. That would take a while to do. There's actually enough of that to go around anyhow. What I want to concentrate on are the facts. Fact number one. Oil is spilling out into the Gulf at a rate of thousands of barrels a day. 40 2 gallons of oil are in a barrel. We really do not know how much is leaking as we can't get a straight answer from BP or anybody else. All we all know is, that it's a lot. If you have seen any of the photos from the cameras that they have mounted down there, it seems like hundreds of thousands are coming out. Now I'm just saying that's what it looks like to me. I don't know how they measure that, but as yet nobody can give us a good estimate. It changes daily. Fact number two. The fishing industry all along the coast is shut down, and may never start up again. Think about all of the fish and sea life that has died or influenced in some shape. Those folks whose livelihood is dependent upon the fishing industry is all but over. They have put a ban on all those fish in those oil infected waters. This just doesn't effect us but any person in the world that fishes or depends on the seafood for revenue and the men and women that the seafood feeds. Were talking about a lot of folks. This could definitely put a grimp in our food chain. Fact number 3. The tourist industry is being influenced. This is the summertime. Folks are taking holidays. Traveling to their favorite spots. Where do folk go? They go down to all those states that now have oil drifting on their beaches. They want to go swimming, fishing, and sun washing. That's likely not going to happen any time soon for all those coastline states. Fact number four. This is going to hit our already strapped economy terribly hard. More jobs being lost. Fishing, holiday maker, and the oil exploration industries are all going to be taking large hits. There won't be any offshore drilling for a long long time. You nearly can guarantee that. Lost in all this is the eleven blokes that died in this very sad accident. Tony Hayward, the director of BP Oil, was talking to a reporter and said that he wanted his life back. In answer to hearing that, one of the brothers of the eleven men that were lost on the rig, recounted that he would love to have his brother back. Fact number 5. The atmosphere the oil is contaminating. Employees that are concerned in the cleanup, and correspondents that are covering the tale, report the nausea and hideous smell the oil is giving off. I recollect an oil company that used to be near our home when I was a kid. We would walk over thru the woods that were around the back of the plant. The oder was very powerful, and nauseating. I could not even imagine being in a ship sitting in oil infected waters. This is something that British Petroleum can't fix. They are starting to constrict where journalists can go and what they can see. I believe this is miles worse than they are telling all of us.They are running out of options, and the possibility of this pipeline never having the ability to be plugged is a very robust fact each day that goes by. Just think of the environmental disaster and commercial stress this would have on the whole world. It is frightful to even think about. This is beginning to turn into a scifi movie that you would go to see at the theater. Is this oil spill the final straw to our economy? The one which will break our business back? Time will tell. In the mean time, I might suggest heading west for your holiday. Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com Brian Gosur is an entreprenuer and internet marketing coach.
