Unfortunately, these two are not true. First off, there are people who would attack voicemail accounts and scour them for more information that they could steal from you. Social Engineering:

Social engineering is basically manipulating people into performing actions or divulging confidential information. One of the techniques that people use to be able to do this is to pretend that they are someone else and then gather data that they may use to steal your data. For example, a hacker may attack your voicemail to check if you do banking transactions online. They may then pretend to be a person from the bank and then try to access credit card numbers or other banking data. Since you would not know that others have accessed your account, you may suddenly find yourself volunteering that information to people that would use it to steal from you.

Exposes you and your loved ones:

Another issue with a lack of voicemail security is that it is not only a problem for you but also for your loved ones. An attacker may track your voicemail and then try to attack your family members. They would check for relatives who tend to be gullible and then base the attack on the information that they would be able to gather from your voicemail account. In short, if you are the weak point due to poor voicemail security then you are risking your family members.
