Is Your Golf Slice A Big Problem? Here's The Solution
1. Setup for a draw. That is... 2. Swing from the insideso the ball will start to the right (for a right handed golfer) of the target. 3. Hit the ball with a slightly closed clubface. 4. Have the right equipment that will encourage you to draw the ball. Now there are 4 things that are generally the opposite of what golfers do to hit a slice. Typically when you try to counteract your slice you aim to the left but by doing this the clubface hits the ball going from the outside in and this creates the dreded slice. {The best way to fix your slice is to do the exact opposite of what you're currently doing|So do everything just the opposite of what you have been doing. So that means you should setup for a hook. Then swing from the inside and release your hands through impact so you contact the ball with a slightly closed clubface. And finally, you need equipment that helps you to hit a draw. If you did all of these things you could fix your slice tomorrow. Seriously! It would happen that fast. But here's the problem -- because it would feel so strange for you to do all of these things at the same time you would barely hit the golf ball….at least for a few days. You see, golfers are adverse to change. It's taken you a long time to build up the habit of slicing and if you go slowly at trying to fix it then it will take a long time to fix it…if you ever do it at all. Now I assume you want to fix your slice sooner rather than later. So trust me, the absolute fastest way to fix your slice is to forget about results for a few days (even up to a couple of weeks) and exaggerate the exact opposite of what you do to hit a slice. And if you're like most of my students who do this, after a few days you'll be hitting the ball straight!Yes….straight! When making changes to your golf swing take one step at a time. And the best place to start is with the setup. You need to setup the opposite of what you're currently doing. So have a strong grip, align yourself to the right of the target, position the ball back in your stance etc., etc. This will be tough to do but if you REALLY want to fix your slice you'll do it. When you've done that then exaggerate swinging from the inside. Make sure the clubface is closed slightly at impact and be certain you are not using clubs that promote a slice.. Finally, if your equipment is promoting a slice rather than a draw then you must get equipment that encourages you to hit a draw/hook. So that's the proven formula you need to follow to fix your slice.By exaggerating these changes doing the opposite of what you have been doing you'll change your swing for the better much more quicklyTo make a start I recommend you change your grip to make it stronger, because I know of golfers that have just done that and fixed their golf slice. So start with making changes to your setup and then progress through the rest of this proven formula after that.
