Is It A Team Or Is It Just Me Phenomena? - Working In A Call Center, Why Do Some Feels Alienated Then Leave.
If you happen to be a call center agent or the type who is interested for just about anything under the sun, you can surely feel the message of this article. Some of you might agree, some may not.
Now, most agents have this same thought in their mind, “am i working in a team or is it just me all along?”.
According to surveys and researchs, one of the main reasons why these callers divorce their career earlier than expected, is because of the feeling of alienation, meaning they feel alone and isolated in their work place. Having heard of this, you might immedietly ask yourselves “ are they being given an individual rooms where they will work solitarily?”, but according to someone whos actually working there, Surely, teams exists in the call center but the idea of you not having the privilage to have a normal shift and enough supply of sunlight might just send you a signal of having your office in the moon.
The next thing that you might ask is, are those companies even aware of this pnenomena within their employees? If yes, what do they do about it?
According to some readings from the book entitled “ my thoughts about that”, call center employers are becoming more of a rented clown than of a serious boss who will be feared by their employees, because they tend not to put any more pressures to them, knowing what most of their people are going through. The plan is, the more comfortable, light environment and fun the work place is, the more likely, their employees will stay. Frequent party throwouts, team building and so much more gimiks to keep their precious assets around is first on their stategy for success.
So for the question “is it a teamwork or an individual effort, my answer to that is... it is all in the mind. First things first, It is obvious that you are working in a team, just look around you, there are 300 of you on that same floor. Now, if you are still not convince, take a closer look of your self, you might be suffering from something else far more serious than not having to sleep at night. Try not to overcriticize the nature of your job, your problems might be coming from somewhere else like personal issues etc. So before considering filing for resignation or complaining to the world of how lonely your are with your job, try asking your relationship with your self first, you might be surprise to know where you are actually coming from.
