Plans with one legs do exist but they are hard to find.
Their lack of popularity comes from most older originators talking only the benefits of the plan and none of the disadvanages. Prior to the 21st century, one legged plans were built on pure publicity.
Many used the phrase, “we will build your downline for you”. While that does have some worth, it does not report the whole story. Even being in this spot will not give you a profitable business.
The biggest disadvantage to this manner of MLM recruiting is that it implies that a person does not have to do anything to make some cash. It sounds great to do nothing and get paid.
Businesses are not run on everyone doing nothing.
If everybody has the belief that you do not have to do anything, then the culture of the business is to do nothing. If everyone does zero but get in, in due course no one else is brought in in the organization. Now all you have left is a company full of people doing nothing.
However, once attached to a one-legged payout plan, participants can be expecting new members to be positioned underneath them. If there is a lot of sponsoring happening, then there will be a lot of folks in the team. But just having a huge downline is just part of the equation.
