Brown, particularly the lighter shades can be very calming. Beige is also a top colour in designing for the web as it provides an earthy & relaxed feel. it could also mean tradition, poverty & mother earth.

Grey can be associated with elegance, innovation & the future. The lighter side is similar to white in that it is a exciting colour to use on the background of a website to make a sense of space & modernism.

Knowing what the colours represent & the power of them can be a great benefit when designing sites. by knowing the target audience, designers can thoughtfully choose colours that are associated with the end user thus making the site look appealing & attractive. E-commerce sites can be improved by directing the user to the purchase button by drawing attention and creating contrast.
