Jane Lynch's Wedding

Actress Jane Lynch, who is 50 years old and best known for being Sue Sylvester in Glee, and her marriage to her long-time partner psychologist Dr. Lara Embry, is one of the most interesting marriages to take place. Jane has appeared in following films; Julie & Julia, The 40-Year Old Virgin, A Mighty Wind, and many more. Lara is a 40 year old clinical psychologist, who practises at the Carter Psychology Centre in Sarasota. They met in 2009 at a fundraiser in San Francisco where Ms Lynch was a presenter and Ms Embry was one of the guests that was being honoured.

Both said the attraction was immediate. For a while, they had to have a long distance relationship, as Ms Lynch had to go back to Los Angeles and Ms Embry had to go back to Sarasota to take care of her 8 year old daughter. During this time Ms Embry discovered that they were more similar than different; they are both fascinated by emotional experiences and that they are both hopeful and positive people. Lara said she was more reserved than Ms Lynch. For her part, Ms lynch said that adjustments had to be made; She said that Ms Embry was very patient and that she was very impulsive and that she had to slow down and Ms Embry had to move faster.

The wedding took place on the 31th of May 2010. The ceremony took place at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland. The event was performed by Life minister Jeannie Elias, who is a good friend of the couple. After the ceremony the dinner took place in the Heron restaurant, present were the couple and 15 guests.

Ms Lynch, who never had kids, said that meeting Haden (Ms Embry’s daughter) was one of the highlights of the relationship that she has with Ms Embry. She thought that because of her age the possibility of having kids was long behind her and was really pleased to have the opportunity to be a “parent”. Ms Embry said that both are really close and that she is really happy about it.
