Just One Word: Plastics

“I just want to say one word to you - just one word. Are you listening? Plastics.”

This classic line from The Graduate (1967) was referring to a relatively new and quickly growing industry, anticipated to be the most exciting and prosperous place to be for a young businessman. Forty years later, “plastics” continues to evolve, improve and provide benefits in countless forms and applications.

One such form of the generic product is corrugated plastic, sometimes known by the brand names of Coroplast, Corriflute or Twinplast. Simply put, corrugated plastic is the twin brethren of corrugated cardboard. The plastic version is a light weight material which can easily be cut with any household knife.

Corrugated plastics have many other benefits:

• It is water, oil, and chemical resistant
• It is washable
• It lasts 10 times longer than normal cardboard
• It maintains a consistent size
• It is 100% recyclable

Corrugated plastic is ideal for most material handling applications, such as carousel, conveyor, and static racking systems. It is able to perform under adverse weather conditions or as a product component exposed to harsh chemicals.

Put the hardworking benefits of corrugated plastic to work in your business and you won’t be displeased, as you will see a drop in customer receipts of damaged goods. Not only will your customers be impressed, but your employees will also be appreciative of the reduction of production line down-time, costly repairs to equipment due to wood pallet debris, employee injuries, and the high disposal costs of wood pallets.

Strong and durable, reusable returnable corrugated plastic boxes bridge the gap between broken paper boxes and high cost injection-molded containers. Corrugated plastic packaging provides long term solutions to inventory, storage and replacement costs, and can lower a company’s packaging costs by up to 70% by virtue of its durability. Unlike cardboard cartons and totes, containers made of plastic can be returned to you by your customers and refilled time after time.

Make the right decision for your business and choose eco-friendly corrugated plastic. “There’s a great future in plastics.”
