Kimi Raikkonen And His Performance In Ferrari
Kimi started the 2007 season by winning the Australian Grand Prix, arising further expectations that he would dominate the 2007 Championship. The media hailed the "new Michael Shumacher". But the next races proved to be more difficult. A series of mechanical problems and driver errors left Raikkonen trailing in the Championship behind Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and his team-mate Felipe Massa. The press was there to capitalize on Kimi 's problems as was the case with his success, before that. Everybody remembered that Kimi likes to "drink a lot", that he cannot motivate his engineers and that he is not as dedicated to his work as Schumacher was. He was not a "new Schumacher", after all. "I haven’t unlearned how to drive during the winter", Raikkonen commented. Indeed, there was a good explanation for all of this: Kimi was a McLaren driver for five years and it took him quite a lot of time to feel at home in his new team. Furthermore, the 2007 Bridgestone tires did not suit an aggressive style of driving, as was that of Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso and Robert Kubica. These drivers had to change their driving style in order to match the new type of tires. Kimi improved his performance steadily, winning two races in a row in France and Britain. The media commented that his Championship chances are still alive and his critics were silenced again. He went from hero to zero and then back to hero again. As for his opinion about the Press? Kimi smiled and commented: "Thank God I don’t read it much". Article Directory: http://www.articledashboard.com Kim Kar is administrator of website Kimi Raikkonen Central.
