Having many ways to connect to the Internet, brings with it just as many ways to find yourself in trouble with the same amount of connections. Mac and PC owners have had their share of arguments about the pros and cons of each system format. Apple seems to be better capable of keeping viruses and other bugs to a minimum. Such damaging things will slow down performance or just plain crash a computer system. You would think these issues would warrant common sense measures to help combat such threats with pre installed virus and bug barriers.

While the Mac's are much more protected and insulated, they don't quite give the user the freedom of an open platform like the PC does. Whatever your reasons for liking the Mac or PC, both platforms need to be taken care of and being safe online is a good idea. Take some care with what sites you access and what sites your computer is able to visit. It is a good idea to have some sort of filter that will keep your computer from being able to access certain sites that may be determined to be unsafe.

Whenever there is a question, it is a good idea to be safe rather than sorry. There are some bugs and viruses out there that mean certain death to your machine. But what is even worse than your expensive computer crashing is all the stuff that you will lose. Not only do you lose all that personal information, including your pictures and movies and music, you can lose a lot more than that. You can lose your identity if your financial and personal information is stolen.

Imagine losing all of your banking information and all of your credit cards and your social security number all at once and not discovering it was taken until it was too late. It can be devastating for your finances and well as your business. Imagine having your business computers hacked and vital information stolen, whether it was a theft from the outside or an inside job, you have to make sure that you are protected.

Randomly surf through your computer business files and programs and it isn't hard to see how importance the computer is to running your business. All this important information must be protected. Loss of this vital information could quickly cripple a business. Planning ahead and taking the proper precautions will put you on the right path to protecting your computer and all its contents.
