Lg Shine – Shines With Flaws...

After the successful debut of Chocolate, LG launches its new star – the LG shine. The handset sure turn some heads with its sleek frame, shiny exterior and overall a great stylish look. But nonetheless, the LG shine's shine is marred by some of its flaws, namely - poor keypad, low battery life and a slightly sluggish interface.

There is no doubt that much like its predecessor, even LG Shine 's USP is its looks. But as said before, it comes with some complaints as well. The handset comes clad in stainless steel casing, with mirror effect screen. Sure it adds a lot of charm and class to the device, but at the same time, the handset attracts bucket loads of finger prints. So, one needs to constantly wipe it to keep it clean and glossy.

The design of Keypad is the biggest problem area. The keypad is very flat and very stiff. Plus it does not have a tactile feedback as well. This resulted in longer messaging times and some unnecessary strain placed on the fingers.

The position of camera, menu and two navigation keys are also awkward. They are placed towards the bottom of the unit, making them impossible to reach with a conventional mobile phone grip. And yet another place to complain its user interface. There is some noticeable lag when starting up and navigating the menu.

Otherwise LG Shine does make a good impression. Connectivity wise it comes with the power of 3G, thus it provides all the perks including Skype, MSN and 3G web browsing. The phone comes with 2 Mp camera, a good music player and usual PIM features. Also present is a VGA camera resting above the screen, for use with video calls.

So, if you can promise yourself to be a good caretaker of the device, and also show some patience when operating it, the LG shine will sure make a good impression on your mind.
