Lead Generation Consistency And Lazer Focus.
Online Network Marketing Coach As network marketers going after the best low cost lead generation methods I’ve noticed that some of us get caught up in the many voices of the online marketing gurus only to completely lose our focus and get caught up in the marketing instead of generating leads. I say simply because I mean it’s simple. But not if you try to do too many different things at once. Being a mother I had an experience today that illustrates my point of this article topic perfectly. 20 Minutes to Webkinz World. My son was given a webkinz pet as a gift over the weekend. A webkinz is a stuffed animal with a code that allows them to enter into an online “world” where they take care of their pet. It’s fun and educational… and in my house you have to EARN that sort of privilege. So, today the rule was set in stone that if my son completed the tasks I gave him to do without procrastinating (that was key. If he didn’t do it the first time he was asked then he automatically forfeited for the day.) Then he could have an hour of webkinz time. We proceeded with the morning. The house was clean and organized from clean up the night before. A clean slate. But as the morning wore on, by 10:30am my son had strewn toys all over the house. It was like he was testing me. Would I really hold him accountable? Well, there was nowhere to walk so I set the timer for 20 minutes and I asked my son to clean up and then he could have his webkinz hour. “Yes.” He said, and I got to my morning chores in the kitchen. My kitchen chores take me about 20 minutes so I told him I was doing mine too let’s race the clock. I like to give my kids their space. I’m raising leaders. I want them to take responsibility for their own actions. So 20 minutes later I came out of the kitchen and it looked like nothing had been touched… he may have moved a toy or two… I was forced to follow through and I informed him that he couldn’t play his game today. He could try again tomorrow. (There’s always another chance.) He said “Okay.” And then went on to NOT clean up his mess. (By the way, he made this mess on his own. My other two children didn’t help him. Kind of like online marketers in their chaotic attempts at lead generation. *wink*) Like my son most beginning online marketers, particularly with the first step - lead generation - often get caught up in the fact that there are so many methods of marketing that all they can do is sit and stare because the multitude of “toys” is overwhelming. But, like my son, if you could simply focus in on one “toy” at a time and pick it up and put it in the toy box… I think you see my point. The leads would be captured, the job would get done, and you won’t have to give up your dream because you just weren’t willing to allow it to be simple. Focus.
