Learning To Cope With Panic Attacks
Some people only experience panic attacks in particular situations such as speaking in front of an audience. For the rest of their time they may be able to go about their lives completely free from panic. Some people suffer from such severe panic that they cannot even step outside their own homes. People who suffer frequently from panic attacks are often diagnosed by doctors as suffering from anxiety disorder. Doctors will often prescribe medication but all that does is suppress the anxiety symptoms. However any cure for panic or anxiety needs to address the root cause of the problem and not just the symptoms. There are several very successful self help programs (see link at bottom of this article) that have been used to help many people eliminate their panic and anxiety. These are well worth investigating as they tackle the root cause of the disorder. Herbs and flower essences are natural remedies that can provide temporary relief against the symptoms of panic and anxiety. The Rescue Remedy flower essence can be purchased in health stores, this will provide relief from anxiety. You can carry this with you so that you always have it available should you need some additional support. The symptoms of a panic attack become all too familiar to sufferers and they will know when they are about to have another one. These symptoms may include being short of breath, tingling, fear of losing control, accelerated heart rate and a feeling of being disconnected from what is going on. This disconnected feeling can make it seem that the surroundings aren’t real. It can feel almost as though you are somewhere else and that you are observing things instead of experiencing them. This can be a very frightening experience. There are lots of unpleasant and scary sensations associated with panic attacks. However none of these are as harmful as they feel to you. They are not life threatening. Although you may fear that you are about to die nobody has ever died from a panic attack. Panic attack symptoms are caused by the body’s flight or fight response being activated to situations that aren’t threatening. This is something that can be prevented once you have learnt how to control it. Being in control of your panic and anxiety levels means that you won't have to experience another panic attack ever again. Isn’t it about time you took control of your life away from your anxiety and became the one who is control of your life?
