Lebanese Sweets Arrangements

Lebanese sweets arrangements can be used on many occasions, from gifts to dessert plates, and have become in demand in all Middle Eastern countries. They make some of the best arrangements that can be gifts on happy occasions.

Lebanese desserts have been popular for many decades. Over the years, they have been reinvented and have seen a lot of innovations and modifications. This resulted in a large collection of almost a hundred types of sweets that can be used to make very appetizing and visually appealing arrangements. People have used their creativity to combine different pieces and different versions of each piece to form beautiful desert plates.

Lebanese sweets consist of pieces of a large spectrum of shapes and colors. This is the most important characteristic that makes them candidates of visually appealing assortments. Like flower arrangements, sweets of different colors and shapes can be combined to provide color and shape contrasts. For instance, assorted Baklava pieces that are made from phyllo dough have a golden brown color. Each of them also has a unique shape. Asabi for instance have the shape of finger, Kol Weshkor come in the shape of an open rose, and original Baklava can have square or diamond shapes. Iswara on the other hand have a circular shape. The other types of assorted Baklava, those made from Knafeh dough, have a dark brown color. Ballorieh in particular has a white color and if often used because it provides an extreme contrast of color. To all these color variations, one needs to add the colors f the different kinds of nuts used, most notably green for pistachios and white for pine nuts and cashews.

The family of assorted Baklava provides enough variations that beautiful arrangement can be made from its items alone. However, one needs not to stop here. Mamoul and Mamoul-Mad cookies can be added as well to provide more variation in taste, shape, and colors. Pistachios and walnuts filled Mamoul, in particular, are usually topped with powdered sugar which gives them a striking white color. Mamoul-Mad variations can particularly be used to provide color contrast because their crust covers the filling only from top and bottom leaving four sides exposed and thus different fillings like dates, pistachios, and walnuts can be used to provide different colors. That is especially the case when the filling in Mamoul-Mad is made very thick, providing a good contrast in color between the filling and the crust which is made of semolina dough.

These arrangements are great corporate gifts on celebrations and holidays. It is very common on holidays like Christmas and New Year to gift food baskets made from desserts, or collection of cheese or chocolates. This tradition is particularly popular in large corporations as well as among family members. Many companies sell readymade collections especially made for these occasions. They can be bought from local stores or online from e-commerce stores and have them shipped directly to the recipient. Most local stores today provide their Lebanese sweets online through their website.
