Precautionary measures have to be adopted regarding maintenance of lifting equipment. Without proper maintenance, lifting equipments are susceptible to corrosion and fracture. Regular wear and tear makes these equipments ductile and brittle. Such equipments are prone to mechanical failure and in most cases is major cause of industrial accidents. These are mainly employed in chemical laboratories.

The importance of lifting equipment has been recognized in most factories and construction houses. They not only smoothen out complex industrial operations, but ensure greater safety of employees as well. However, at the same time, proper management of these devices are mandatory as obsolete equipments may prove to be detrimental to the organization as their whole purpose may go futile.
