Link Building - Six Ways To Get Links To Your Website
1) Article Marketing - This method of link building has become very popular during the past few years. The process is simple; write a short article about the topic you want to promote and submit it to one of the better article directories. Webmasters/bloggers looking for content for their sites come along to the article directory and download the articles they like and re-publish them on their own site, and in return they give you a link to your site. 2) Directory Submissions - Before article marketing became as popular as it is, the most popular method for generating links was through directory sites. The ease in which they could be set up ultimately led to their downfall as they became nothing more than link farms. With that said, there are still quite a few that have credibility and are worth submitting too. 3) Blog Comments - This is a very, very popular method of building links at the current time, and whilst not all links pass link juice to your website, there is another plus point to commenting on blogs, and that is it helps you to become known in your niche. This may indirectly help you to acquire visitors to your site or readers to your blog and therefore more links (if people like your site/blog). 4) Press Releases - Another great way to generate many, many of links in a very short space of time. Put together a press release and publicize it through one of the many online resources that handle the distribution of press releases. 5) Guest Posting - Guest posting works in a very similar way to article marketing. You create content and offer it to another website in your niche and ask the owner to publish it. Very effective in some circles, and also a great way to build up your own profile. 6) Social Bookmarking - This can be quite tedious if done manually, and like directory submissions, the value of social bookmarking has somewhat decreased during the past few years. That said, if used as part of a wide link building strategy it almost certainly has some effect on rankings. And, like blog comments, it can lead to indirect links through people discovering a site through means other than a search engine. As you might expect, there are loads of ways to build links to your website, the methods mentioned above are just the tip of the iceberg.
