List Building - 5 Steps To Success!

I'm sure you have heard "The money is in the list" if you have been around Internet marketing for any length of time. What does that really mean? If you collect the name and email address of your website visitors, you have the ability to contact them in the future. This is the basics of list building.


Tip #1: Squeeze Page
Before you can do any kind of list building you have to develop a squeeze page. A squeeze page is a page that has one purpose and that is to squeeze the name and email address out of your visitor. Design a good squeeze page and you will see great results. Basic elements of a squeeze page: 1) Powerful Headline 2) Bullet Points 3) Offer a FREE gift. Use a limited time offer for the opt-in this will help pick up some of those that might want to think it over!

Tip #2: Article Marketing
List building becomes very easy once you apply article marketing to the mix. Writing articles is one of the best forms of free advertising bar none. You can write 2 - 3 articles surrounding your niche in about 90 minutes. Make sure you put your squeeze page link at the bottom of your article in the resource box. There are literally hundreds of free article directories that will allow you to submit your articles. Write articles on what ever your email marketing campaign is about. Your article should be around 300 - 500 words in length and no more than 750 words. Make sure your headline grabs the readers attention and your authors resource box has a call to action. By submitting 2 - 3 articles a day you should see an increase in your sign ups.

Tip #3: Press Release
Creating buzz for your website is essential to its success. By
writing and releasing press releases you can capture the attention of a part of your market that you might not reach otherwise. Once again writing and submitting press releases can be a tedious chore but if you are not sending out press releases yet you are missing out on tons of traffic.

Tip #4: Ezine Advertising
Another great tool for list building is Ezine advertising. You can usually get an advertising spot for around $15 - $20. To make sure that this is going to be an affordable and profitable venture you need to find an Ezine Newsletter that is in your niche and write a compelling ad to send their subscribers to your opt-in page. Choose an Ezine that has at least 500 - 750 subscribers. If your opt-in page has been done right you should get about a 10 - 25% opt-in rate. This type of advertising is probably one of the most overlooked in the industry! Use it, I know I have and it works!

Tip #5: Traffic Exchanges Free Advertising
Ok, I can already hear you saying "Traffic Exchanges Suck, they don't work!" I say, because you are using them wrong! With using TE's you should only be advertising your squeeze page! The other viewers are there building credits to show their page and you only have around 10 - 20 seconds to grab their attention and make them want to sign up for your offer! Most of the other marketers at TE's are not there to spend money but, rather to build up their credits. Make sure that your squeeze page shows everything above the fold, if they need to scroll down make sure it is not very much! If you are really into list building than using Traffic Exchanges is the best way to go! Make sure you are offering a unique give away and grab their attention with some unique content they haven't seen before and they will sign up.
